Focus Ireland calls on the Business Community to Shine A Light on homelessness - Oct 13th

Jul 17, 2017

------ Focus Ireland Shine a Light Night: Give one night to change a lifetime -----

Focus Ireland has launched its annual Shine A Light Night and is calling on the business community to sleep out for one night to help raise vital funds for its services working to prevent and combat homelessness in Ireland.

The charity is asking CEO’s, MD’s and Executives to join their Business Leaders event at Christ Church Cathedral in Dublin or in Munster’s Cork City Gaol, or for staff to get together and have a sleep-out or sleep-in at work on the 13th of October. The campaign is an annual initiative where the business community comes together to shine a light on the issue of homelessness, and shine a light of hope for those who are experiencing homelessness right now in Ireland.

The charity is now urging more of Ireland’s top business men and women, as well as workplace teams, to come together and sign-up for the event, joining the likes of Google, Facebook and Bord Gáis Energy.  Focus Ireland says they need the support of the Irish business community now more than ever. The appeal comes as the number of families becoming homeless has nearly doubled since last year and one in three of those in emergency accommodation is a child.

So ask your executive team to sleep-out at Dublin’s Christ Church Cathedral or Cork City Gaol or ask your teams to come together, fundraise collectively, and sleep-out or sleep-in at work on
October 13th.
